Stop staffing your filter.
Start running your plant.

Every time total suspended solids spike, your operators become the failsafe — VelRay X™ manages difficult industrial water so the spike never becomes their problem.

CHALLENGE

Filtration is a choke point you can't fully staff around

You already know the pattern. Suspended solids spike, the bag filter blinds, the "self-cleaning" screen drops into continuous backwash, and someone has to leave what they're doing to intervene — usually off-hours, or usually during the exact event your compliance team is watching closest. It's not really a mechanical problem anymore. It's a labor problem wearing a mechanical disguise.

You don't need another vendor promising "automation" that still needs someone standing next to it during the exact hours you can least afford to send one. You need equipment that eliminates a class of problem — not a system that just moves the same problem to a different shift.

What variable TSS is really costing your operation
Overtime and off-hours call-ins every time solids spike on nights and weekends
Maintenance techs pulled off production to babysit a filter that promised to clean itself
Consumables — bags, cartridges, chemicals — whose burn rate outruns the original budget

WHY NOW

69%

of manufacturers are now investing in automation to close the workforce gap — up from last year, and climbing*

Over 415,000 manufacturing jobs sit open in the U.S. right now, and the experienced operators you have left are retiring faster than they can be replaced. That's not a cycle — it's structural, and every plant is competing for the same shrinking pool of skilled hands.

The argument for automation is already won. Leadership doesn't need to be convinced that labor is scarce. The only question left in front of you is whether the automation actually holds when the load spikes — off-hours, unattended, without you finding out from an alarm log the next morning.

Every other filtration technology cleans reactively — solids build up, flow drops, then a backwash or scraper cycle fires to catch up, roughly once every three to four minutes. That's fine at a steady load. It fails exactly when your water doesn't cooperate. VelRay X inverts the model: it keeps the filtration surface clean continuously, so a fouling layer never gets the time it needs to form.

VelRay X: built to maintain continuous, automated performance when TSS spikes

01 / KEEPS SOLIDS IN MOTION
Crossflow filtration
Influent moves across the filtration surface instead of dead-ending into it. Tangential velocity keeps captured solids in suspension and carries them toward concentration instead of letting them settle and pack. Throughput holds steady as TSS swings from 300 to 5,000 mg/L.
02 / STOPS PARTICLES WEDGING
Tapered slot openings
The screen geometry is narrowest at the filtration face and widens behind it. A particle either passes the face cleanly or is rejected at the surface — it can't lodge halfway and jam, which is the wedging failure that blinds straight-walled screens during a spike.
03 / REGENERATES CONTINUOUSLY
Active brush cleaning
An internal brush mechanically sweeps the filtration surface so it regenerates more than 35 times a second — instead of the once-every-3-to-4-minutes cadence of backwash-dependent systems. It happens without interrupting filtrate flow or dumping water to drain.

BENEFITS

What changes on your floor, not just on paper

Every benefit below is a direct consequence of how VelRay X is engineered — not language that can't be backed up with an operating hour count.

End the babysitting

Put your operators back to running the plant instead of managing a filter that claims to be automated.

Protect your team, not just uptime

Every hour an operator spends babysitting a filter is an hour closer to burnout. Removing the labor tax at the source is how you protect the experienced people you can't afford to lose — and can't easily replace.

A modernization story leadership buys

You don't need to explain why an "automated" system still needs someone standing next to it. Screen regeneration at 35 times a second, verified under your worst-case TSS, is a specific claim — not a marketing term you'll have to walk back later.

Lower total cost of ownership

Fewer consumables to reorder, no chemical program to manage, up to 99% water recovery, and documented labor reduction under real operating conditions. Run the five-year number — the comparison usually isn't close.
